Dr. David Brenner has taught German, European, and International Studies at Texas A&M University since 2016. Before that, he taught for nearly a decade at the University of Houston, where he also served as Director of the Houston Teachers Institute. In addition, he has been a guest professor at Rice University, Cornell University, and the University of Konstanz.

The fortunate recipient of grants and fellowships from the Fulbright, Mellon, Humboldt and other foundations, Brenner is the author and translator of numerous books, essays, and articles. His most recent book is German-Jewish Popular Culture before the Holocaust (2014). His current project, Schindler’s Shoah: Teaching the Holocaust in the Wake of the Cold War, explores portrayals and pedagogies of genocide in the United States and Europe since 1989.
